Sunset Pics?
Most Brides/Photogs recommend taking "sunset" pictures up to 30 minutes before actual sunset time. Remember, sunset means lights out.
Example 1: 4pm ceremony--7:07pm sunset
'm getting married at 4pm.....here's my timeline! HTH!!!
- 3:30 - 3:45 - Pre-Ceremony - Guests Arrive
- 4:00 - Ceremony
- 4:30 - Cocktail and appetizers begin
- 4:45 - Family and friends pictures
- 5:00 - Pictures of bride and groom & bridal party - time to relax and enjoy your own cocktail time.
- 5:50 - ask guests to find their seats
- 6:00 - Dinner Service / Bride & Groom leave for sunset pictures
- 6:45 - Couple only on the pier for sunset pictures
- 7:07 - Sunset
- 7:15 - Grand entrance to reception - Bridal Party and Bride & Groom are introduced
- 7:20 - First Dance
- 7:25 - Toasts
- 7:40 - Cake Cutting
- 7:45 - Father/Daughter Dance
- 7:50 - Mother/Son Dance
- 7:55 - Open Dancing
- 8:30 - Bouquet and garter toss
- 9:45 - music concludes
- 10:00 - guests vacate property
Example 2: 4:30 Ceremony, 7:00PM sunset
4:00 guest arrival
4:30 ceremony
5:00-6:00 cocktail hour (Phil & I do photos)
6:02 (no seriously, that's what the schedule said. My Dad is military) - welcome speech
6:05 - blessing on dinner
6:06 - 6:15 - we sang and cut the cake
6:20 - plated salad & warm rolls & wine served to tables
6:25 - Phil and I got up and did sunset photos for about 15 minutes
6:40 - MOH speech
6:45 - buffet opened
6:58 - sunset
7:25 - Best man speech & cake served
7:40 - 9:45 dancing, drinking, smoking and merriment.
4:30 ceremony
5:00-6:00 cocktail hour (Phil & I do photos)

- 6:00: DJ, Cocktails, & Hors D'oeuvres while Photos Continue
- 7:00: Sunset, Introduction, then seating for Dinner
- 8:00: First Dance, Cake Cutting
- 8:15: Father/Daughter, Mother/Son Dances
Open Dance
- 10:00: Everyone departs!
Example 4: 4:30 Ceremony, 7:15 Sunset
